TSUNAMI LG CASE STUDY
Tsunami formed the Tsunami Label Group in the early 2000's to launch one of the music industry's first 'virtual label' releasing options for product not attached to a conventional label.
Tsunami had developed the expertise and infrastructure for this service by administering the retail exclusives program at both Target and Tesco.
The Tsunami LG model was structured with in-house product managers coordinating teams of specialized, outsourced marketing and promotional agencies qualified in the relevant music genre. Tsunami also offered turnkey distribution services via alliances with various independent distributors and digital service providers.
Tsunami successfully deployed this service for a number of clients, most notably for Universal Music Group International, releasing albums from Nick Drake, Spiritualized, Children of Bodom and Rammstein, and for the Mute Corporation, releasing albums from Moby, Goldfrapp and Richard Hawley
